"Note Recognition" is an acoustic music scanner that converts music into an alternative sheet music. It helps you learning new songs by displaying sheet music suggestions for the recorded audio and provides you the functionality to change the audio speed and slow down your recorded music ("audio slow motion"). It's perfect for musicians who want to write down their own songs or who want to learn new songs and don't know how to play them.

This sheet music scanner works with pitch detection and frequency analysis (like FFT Fast Fourier Transformation for example) and is perfect for musicians (especially vocal and guitar or piano players). The note analyzer listens to your music, analyzes it's pitch and converts your music back into an alternative sheet music. And of course, you can also use the note recognition app as a simple audio / voice recorder.

This note detector won't extract 100% of the played notes but depending on the quality of the signal the note detection algorithm will do a good job and will give you useful sheet music suggests. Because the detector can't separate multiple instruments you will get the best results if just one instrument is playing simultaneously or if you record your voice without any background music. Also, you should place your phone in front of your instrument, your voice or your speakers to improve the detection quality.

Please note that the note recognition algorithm performs intense mathematical calculations and it will take some time to analyze your recorded audio.



To be fair, here's what this app is NOT able to do:

This app won't detect 100% of the played notes and there will also be wrong detections. But depending on the quality of the input signal it will give you useful suggests!


The audio speed change functionality provides two music speed factors: 2x and 4x (as slow as normal). If you use this functionality, the sheet music recognition app will zoom into the music score to make it easier for you. Mostly, it's recommended to change music speed if you want to analyze very fast songs because the sheet music gets illegible. Also, by changing the speed of your audio record you'll be able to identify very fast notes easy by ear.

Having bad music note detection results sometimes? Try to open the settings and adjust the detail level at which it shall detect notes and convert music into notes.

The music note detection was tested with guitar, piano and vocal but should work with every instrument as long as it plays notes above B1 (61,7 Hz) and convert music to sheet music.

This is the PRO version of the app "Volume Button Recorder FREE". On the PRO version:

- You can password protect the app and your secret recordings.
- There is no limit on the length of the recordings (on the free version of the app, the recordings can have only up to 2 minutes in length)

When disabled the audio will then be played back chopped to 250ms to 1500ms, reversed and in random burst of multiple sounds depending on compass reading. (see mode B instructions)

"CLEAR" - wipes all sound samples from memory. Sounds stay in memory until clear is pressed or the app is quit.

"START" starts the echo/real time feedback. (Start on main screen does also)

"MIC GAIN" Sets mic input level. This should always be set as high as possible without feedback. USE AN EXTERNAL SPEAKER.

"ECHO DELAY" - Set delay time before Echo repeats (does not work perfect on all devices)

"SPEED" - Controls the playback speed of the sound bed.

"REVERB SETTINGS" - Opens reveb controls

Introducing Duo Kits for PocketKit Platinum for PCMSynth kits! Here's how it works:

I have split the acoustic drum kits for PCMSynth down into two sections -- "FH" Floor Heads (kicks, snares, toms, hats) and "OH" OverHeads (Crashes, Splashes, Chokes, Rides, Cups etc...)

By splitting this into two sections across two PCMSynth Machines opens more control over these sections of our drum kits, as well as increase our polyphony for each section, to avoid sudden dropouts of sound when doing a busy run or very active drumline track.

Also included is a nice handful of BeatBox kits covering a wide variety of electronic and hip hop or dubstep style kits and sounds.

All of these kits run full stereo and I have included my SBT methods (sonic balance techniques) EQ and compression methods to match Caustic's stock synth machines' overall tone characteristics, all without the need of mixer desk EQ or layered effects, which will free up CPU resources on your device in a very efficient way to allow for more resources to allocate elsewhere to beef up your tracks, even on lower-powered phones or tablets.

My acoustic kits mimic a nice live studio room feel off of a modified X/Y mic'ing setup, yielding a pleasant stereo field presence, without harsh phasing and panning of various drums and crashes as commonly found with A/B or L/R overhead mic setups and heavy console panning of individual drum head or hat mics.

Multi-layered kicks, snares, toms, hats, and crashes enhance your drumming experience in a more natural way, making PocketKit Project the only truly expressive, yet simply effective, on the mobile music workstation platform, as previously demonstrated with my PocketKit Pro series.

I plan to use these kits, myself, for some music projects I have coming up soon; but I wanted to share this project with you, wether you want studio-ready style drums for a live band performance or recording, or some thick and rich electronic drum kits that you won't hear in this way, anywhere else.

Caustic Content Pack

SPLMeter shows SPL (deciBels) of the Android's mic signals, and their frequency spectrum. The meter has three speeds: Fast, Medium and Slow. Shows peak envelope and frequency of maximum intensity, and clipping. ISO 1/3 Octave bars and Spectrogram.
