Radio Nav Aids is an aircraft radio navigation instrument simulator. A huge world wide database of DME's, VOR's and VORTAC's is built in. Both a VOR (VHF Omni-directional Range) and HSI (Horizontal Situation Indicator) can be simulated. Both also have a classic 7-segment simulated DME (Distance Measuring Equipment) displayed consisting of slant distance, groundspeed and ETA. The simulator utilises GPS and the device's magnetic compass to accurately display the VOR or HSI magnetic radial (corrected for the local magnetic variation).

The simulator is intended for training purposes only and must not be used for actual aircraft navigation. It is ideal for learning how the VOR and HSI work in convenient location other than an aircraft cockpit.

Caveats:
The speed is only as accurate as your GPS. At slow speed it will be prone to some variation due to GPS jitter. It will be more accurate in motorway driving than city driving - so just fine for keeping an eye on those annoying average speed camera zones on the motorway.

Find you way back home using your smart phone.

Homr shows you the way back to your hotel, car, tent, etc. Avoid the stress of being lost at the end of your trip!

When you depart press the "SET HOME POSITION" button to store your current (home) GPS position. As you move away Homr will show you the direction and distance to your home position.

Homr uses GPS to determine the position of your smart phone. Therefore GPS must be enabled in the Android Settings. The smart phone should be used away from tall buildings to ensure that a strong GPS signal is received from the GPS satellites.

Homr will only work with smart phones that have a heading sensor (magnatometer) because it needs to know the compass heading of your phone. If the green arrow in Homr spins around randomly then your phone probably doesn't have a heading sensor.

The Homr Settings screen allows the distance units type to be chosen e.g. metric. The "SET HOME POSITION" button can also be locked to prevent the home position being accidentally set.

This application collects location data in the background for the ["sound direction correction" function to work. This is the main function of the application.
The program uses this information only to calculate sound prompts and does not transmit it to anyone or where.

The program allows you to follow the previously saved coordinates without taking the phone out of your pocket using sound prompts. Coordinates can be selected both from the maps installed separately for the program, and from other offline maps installed on the device capable of sharing "geo" or through the clipboard.

First Off The Tube helps you board the Tube, Overground, and the DLR in order to be closest to your exits and interchanges at the chosen station. It incorporates a detailed database of each and every exit and interchange found on the Tube system and works perfectly well while you're underground as it needs no internet connection or GPS information. You can search by line, or just by the station name to find the station you're looking for.
The app also provides information on the closest stations to a number of London's tourist attractions.
PERMISSIONS: needs access to the files ("media") -- the actual data is stored in SQLite db files inside the app which need accessing, otherwise it won't work.

Note that, despite support from the Travel Card A / S, is an unofficial app from a third party. 4) Wait at least 5 minutes while ixGyro is running and the device is at rest
5) Optionally you can uncheck the option "Minimize gyro delay" now to save battery power.

AccSpeed is the FIRST digital speedometer offering the possibility of combining the GPS speed measurement with those given by complex calculations on the phone accelerometers.
The posted speed can be expressed in MPH or km/h, and the app also provides access to measurements which are:

- The maximum speed
- Average speed
- Altitude
- The covered distance

You might have noticed how multiple applications regarding speedometers are slow and unresponsive.

Well it's simply because they only use the GPS speed measurement, which only updates every second.

With AccSpeed, a button allows you to combine the speed given by the accelerometers with the GPS speed.

"Yes it's good, but what does it bring?"
Well when you are driving and you accelerate, AccSpeed measures this acceleration, and calculates the speed of movement every 0.01 seconds (we are far from the one second of the GPS ;) ).
So the speed displayed on the phone screen is extremely responsive, the smallest pressure on the accelerator or brake pedal will change the speed almost instantly.

To summarize:
-The speed measurement by GPS provides precision.
-The speed measurement by accelerometers brings reactivity.


USER MANUAL :

For correct use of the "use the accelerometers" option of AccSpeed, kindly read the rules of use below.
(None of these rules apply if the option is disabled)

1. The phone must be kept fixed in the vehicle, and therefore can not be held in the hands.

2. The phone screen should be placed perpendicular to the road, with the ability to incline forward or back.

3. Inclining the phone will change the value of the posted speed, so you have to wait a few seconds before the auto-calibration is performed.


Note:

Accelerometers present in the phones are very blunt instruments, and their measurement qualities vary from one phone to another. It is therefore not impossible that the speed measurement is slightly wrong, but this should not prevent correct use of AccSpeed.

AISView is the ideal App for anyone wanting to display "live" AIS data from their boat's AIS receiver or transponder on their Android tablet or smart phone. AISView is designed to receive and display wireless NMEA data from any of Digital Yacht's NMEA to Wifi devices like the WLN10, NavLink, iNavHub or iAIS.

Although a "wire free" connection is the easiest way to get data in to the tablet, if you do not have one of our wireless NMEA products, you can also connect using Digital Yacht's USB-NMEA adaptor. Connect this cable to the NMEA0183 output of your AIS and plug the USB connector in to a suitable USB OTG cable for your tablet and you have a simple and cost effective method of getting AIS data in to the tablet

Even if you have a full featured AIS display on your main plotter, having an extra display on a tablet is useful as a repeater or 2nd display. Utilising the internal GPS of the Android tablet, you will also have a completely separate backup system, which should your main plotter fail, will display your position, all of the AIS targets around you and also provide anti-collision alarms with CPA and TCPA calculations.

Once installed, you'll see an overlay of AIS target information onto a background Google map. Tap on a target and you'll get a drop down list with identity, heading and closest point of approach (CPA) information. A heading vector makes it easy to see potential collision course targets. Google maps can now be cached if you don't have an internet connection but even if this feature is not used, AISView will present an attractive radar like visualisation with range rings overlaying the targets around your vessel.

AISView also supports a simple bearing and distance ruler, compass heading display and current position and track history from the device's built in GPS. Alarms can be configured for closest point of approach and AIS SARTs – useful for MOB applications. If you have a live internet connection, you can also supplement the real time overlay with AIS information obtained from the popular BoatBeacon internet AIS app (if this is installed) allowing you to view AIS targets in remote ports or locations.

Requirements:
Android Smartphone or Tablet with GPS. A wireless NMEA (TCP or UDP) AIS data connection or a compatible USB to NMEA adaptor cable and OTG USB Cable.

Important Notes:
- Please note that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
- This program should only be used as an aid to navigation. Only official government charts and notice to mariners contain all of the current information needed for safe navigation. This product's features cannot be relied on to be complete or accurate and may vary locally.
